An unexpected evening at Quo Vadis, London

It’s beginning to feel like the party season and if you’re looking for an evening of cocktails in London, where better than a visit to Quo Vadis?  ‘Quo vadis’ is a Latin phrase meaning “Where are you going?”, or more precisely “Whither goest thou?”…we knew exactly where we were heading, and that was inside to enjoy some cocktails and steak sandwiches!

As one of London’s oldest restaurants founded in 1926, we were looking forward to the evening with friends as we looked in through the colourful stained glass windows with anticipation.  We were already looking forward to dinner, after our dining experience in Fino’s restaurant (also by the Hart brothers), where we had perhaps one of our most memorable dinners in London (it did help that a leading food writer and television presenter was ordering our food and his taste is  impeccable, so we decided to let him choose our food from the menu!).

Once inside we ordered a selection of stunning cocktails: we had just been to a party, and decided Quo Vadis was the best place to head on to. After sampling the most delicious steak sandwich in the world, (in our opinion!) and with our cocktails we moved on into the snooker room for a game, and Eddie Hart (the owner) joined us in his wonderful joint, briefly to welcome us.

The cocktail to order: The Quo Vadis Aperitifa: Campari, fresh clementine juice, Lemon juice, topped up with champagne, fantastic dry and fruity. Both exotic and and classic cocktails were on offer as well as the perfect gin martini.

So, eat your heart out with the Hart brothers, great steak sandwiches, dinner and cocktails at Quo Vadis, as well as one of our most memorable dinners in London at Fino’s…encore, encore please! Great steak sandwiches, cocktails and excellent company, what more does a girl need?
